Simone was born in Italy and obtained his master’s degree in molecular biology of the cell at the University of Milan. He then joined Gritti’s Lab at the SR-TIGET institute, working on the development and validation of an ex vivo gene therapy treatment to cure two rare neurodegenerative disorders called Sandhoff and Tay-Sachs diseases. He joined TVRU in 2024 and currently focuses on developing AAV-based gene therapies to treat rare genetic diseases mainly affecting the central nervous system.
