Milad Bastami

Dr Milad Bastami serves as a Staff Scientist - Bioinformatician at Children's Medical Research Institute, where he collaborates closely with multiple research groups within the institute as well as other esteemed medical research institutions. With a Ph.D. in Medical Genetics and over seven years of experience applying bioinformatics to biomedical research, he has honed his expertise in analysing and interpreting omics data. Prior to joining CMRI in 2024, Dr Bastami served as a bioinformatics research officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. He has made significant contributions to various publications, delving into genome-wide scans for regulatory elements in complex diseases, prioritising variations influencing noncoding RNA networks in cancer, and investigating the intricate molecular mechanisms of esophageal cancer.
