Diane Openshaw
Even though Diane has no personal connection with family or friends with a genetic condition, she feels a sense of duty to help those in need.
Diane has a heart of gold, and for almost four decades, she has shown us just how much she cares about sick kids by supporting our research here at Children's Medical Research Institute. It all started back in her twenties when she stumbled upon a Channel 7 telethon raising funds for CMRI. As she watched the heartbreaking stories of children battling medical conditions, she felt a deep conviction that every child deserves the chance to live a full and healthy life.
When asked about her motivations, Diane humbly explained that she believed in the power of medical research. She understands that supporting researchers working on long-term solutions is crucial.
Research benefits not just children, but adults as well in the long run.
Over her many years of generous support, we’ve made sure that Diane receives our newsletters and other updates throughout the year so that she can truly see the difference that her kindness is making to research and what our hopes and plan for the future are.
Diane's ongoing dedication and selfless gift in her Will to CMRI will ensure that her legacy of support she started many years ago will continue for generations to come.
