Taree Committee
Established 1981
The Taree Committee started in June 1981 with 20 members; each had in some way been affected by children’s illnesses such as leukaemia, cancer or premature babies.
Today the committee has reduced to four members, although they are still as committed and enthusiastic, holding fundraising events throughout the year such as catering for events, raffles, and baby shows. Each year you will see the committee at the local shopping centre on Jeans for Genes Day selling merchandise.
The reason people joined the committee in 1981 was they wanted to help change children being born with mostly fatal illnesses, supporting each other and helping a very worthy cause that would in the future help children to be born healthy.
